About
Lori A. Rusterholtz, MD, FACC, is an interventional cardiologist at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute.
Dr. Rusterholtz earned her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Her postdoctoral training included an internal medicine residency, cardiology fellowship and interventional cardiology fellowship at University Hospitals of Cleveland. She also completed a research fellowship in cardiology at Case Western Reserve University and the Joseph S. Silber Fellowship through the American Cancer Society. She has received an Individual National Research Service Award by the National Institutes of Health/National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.
Dr. Rusterholtz is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology with particular interest in caring for cancer patients with known or suspected heart disease, a subspecialty dubbed cardio-oncology. She spent the initial years of her medical career in Florida as a physician specializing in coronary interventional procedures at Interventional Cardiac Consultants in Clearwater and Bay Heart Group in Tampa. She also served as the Medical Director of the Women’s Health Heart Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa. She then returned to Northeast Ohio where she joined North Ohio Heart, Inc., and has been practicing in the western suburbs for more than a decade.
Dr. Rusterholtz is highly skilled in diagnosing and treating the full range of heart conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders, heart valve disease and congestive heart failure. In addition to seeing patients, she has contributed to the medical field through investigator roles in clinical trials that aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of various medications for patients with chronic coronary artery disease or atrial fibrillation.
Dr. Rusterholtz is a member of national professional organizations including the American College of Physicians and American Heart Association. She has also received recognition as a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
