I have already recommended Dr. Miskovsky to a family member. Please do not send me this survey again. This Is already the second time. And for the benefit of others, I suggest you find a way to shorten it by at least two-thirds.

Dr. Miskovsky spoke rather quickly and softly. I had forgotten to wear my hearing aids, so I'm sure I missed some of what she said. Overall, the visit was very good.

I can't say enough good about my visit with Dr. Miskovsky. I scheduled with her to seek a second opinion on a diagnosis and treatment options for my bad ankle. The other provider had suggested a full ankle replacement, but only after they did a full knee replacement. After reviewing my X-rays, Dr. Miskovsky suggested we start with a shot of cortisone to see if we could get some relief. I was very nervous about the cortisone shot due to a very bad prior experience. She assured me it would be different this time. I asked the nurse to "hold my hand" while the doctor delivered the cortisone. I barely felt the injection!! But the best news is that I have been pain free, walking without a limp, since the injection. And the relief was immediate. Dr. Miskovsky explained that this wasn't a permanent solution, and she discussed next steps, ankle fusion with me. I am so grateful for Dr. Miskovsky's measured approach. She is the first ankle specialist that has really listened to me. The outcome from that first appointment was and continues to be amazing! In fact, the experience was so good I am moving all of my health care over to UH. As an aside, I just received my statement from that visit. I called the billing team and they too were not just very accommodating, but they resolved my issue in minutes. I am deeply impressed with everything I've experienced with UH, especially Dr. Miskovsky.

Industry Relationships

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.

UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
