I saw Dr. Lumapas because I was looking for a different Rheumatologist, my previous rheumatologist was not a good fit. Dr. Lumapas was the complete opposite of my previous doctor. I am so happy that I was able to get in to see her! She believed (Dr. Lumapas) what I was telling her, she did not stand across the room from me never even touching me, what a difference! Dr. Lumapas is a great improvement from mu previous rheumatologist!!

I was a patient of Dr. Lumapas when living in ***. I have been living in *** for the past three years. Dr. Lumapas knew me well and I always valued her opinion, appreciated how thorough she was in her examinations and explanations, and also her genuine concern for me as a patient. Therefore I chose to drive back up to Cleveland to discuss my bone density concerns and arthritis pain with her. I was extremely pleased how well she had brought herself up to speed on all my information, tests, lab work, etc since moving to ***. She shared a plan to approach my osteoporosis and also gave me recommendations for managing my arthritis pain. She sent an order to an infusion center in the *** area and wants to follow up with me after my next bone density test. My husband came with me. After we left, he said he totally understood why I wanted to make the two hour plus trip to *** to meet with her. He was very impressed by her knowledge, professionalism and thoroughness. I'm very glad to be back working with Dr. Lumapas to address my issues.

The provider & assistant were and always are excellent! Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say that ever since I have been coming to this office, the front desk receptionist (Kim) is always short, rude, abrupt and abrasive. Initially, I thought she was possibly having a bad day (as we all do) but I've learned she is always like this. This is her personality/disposition. Honestly, I dread the front desk portion of my appointments. This individual is just as miserable as can be every time all the time. Definitely not a good fit for someone working with patients/customers. Otherwise, this office provider and assistant receive 5-Stars! They're wonderful.

Industry Relationships

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.

UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
