About
Hassan M. Ibrahim, MD, FACC, is a general cardiologist at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute. He is board certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Ibrahim earned his medical degree with honors from the Tishreen University Faculty of Medicine in Syria. His postdoctoral training included a residency in internal medicine at Damascus University in Syria where he was named resident of the year. He followed this with echocardiography training at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, before completing additional residencies at Hurley Medical Center and Wayne State University in Michigan. Dr. Ibrahim then further honed his skills with a fellowship in cardiovascular disease, heart failure and transplant cardiology at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.
Dr. Ibrahim held teaching roles as clinical instructor and assistant professor while serving as a staff cardiologist at the Medical College of Virginia. He later moved to Ohio and joined North Ohio Heart, Inc., where he has built a large clinical practice over the past three decades. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular conditions that include coronary artery disease, heart valve disease, congestive heart failure and heart rhythm disorders.
Dr. Ibrahim is a member of multiple professional organizations including the Syrian Medical Association, American Heart Association, Heart Failure Society of America, Ohio State Medical Association and Huron County Medical Society. He is also recognized as a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
