About
Rebecca A. Hazen, PhD, is a psychologist in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics & Psychology at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor, departments of Pediatrics and Psychology, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Hazen’s special interests include attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), behavior problems in young children, oppositional behavior, tantrums, toileting problems and children’s and adolescents’ adjustment to chronic medical conditions.
She completed her undergraduate work at The State University of New York at Buffalo, Buffalo, N.Y., and earned her doctorate in psychology from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. She completed an internship in pediatric psychology at Columbus Children’s Hospital, followed by a fellowship at Case Western Reserve University under a Ruth L. Kirchstein T32 National Research Training Award in Child Behavioral Health.
Dr. Hazen’s research interests include screening for anxiety and depression in young children, family management of diabetes in children and adolescents, and family-physician communication about clinical research. She was the co-principal investigator on an American Psychological Foundation study of screening and prevention of anxiety and depression in pediatric primary care patients and is currently a faculty scholar in Case Western Reserve University’s Children’s Access Now program, funded by the Ohio Department of Medicaid. She has published a number of papers in pediatric psychology journals and other specialty journals and presented at national conferences.
Dr. Hazen is a member of the Society for Pediatric Psychology and Chair of the Bioethics Special Interest Group and a member of the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.

We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
