With the support of more than 60,000 donors, University Hospitals surpassed its original $1 billion goal for Discover the Difference: The Campaign for University Hospitals in December 2012. In light of our community’s growing health care needs, and with unprecedented giving and encouragement from our philanthropic community, UH leaders made the historic commitment to continue the Discover the Difference campaign, with an expanded goal of reaching $1.5 billion by UH’s 150th anniversary in 2016.
The additional $500 million raised will expand and strengthen UH institutes and centers of excellence, especially UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute, UH Neurological Institute, UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and UH Seidman Cancer Center. It will also strengthen our investment and national leadership in innovation, discovery and quality through The Harrington Project for Discovery & Development and UH Institute for Health Care Quality & Innovation.
Our success to date and the promise our plans hold are a tribute to philanthropy's role in opening new doors in medical science, supporting our community and fueling our mission.
