Clinical Research Unit Services are located at the following facilities:

Hospital-Based Facilities

William T. Dahms Clinical Research Unit (DCRU)

Location: University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, Horvitz Tower, 7th floor

Features of the William T. Dahms Clinical Research Unit include:

  • Nine RN-staffed patient rooms
    • Four rooms with Compumedics HD-PSG adult and pediatric sleep study capability)
  • Flexible for inpatient or outpatient studies
  • Adult or pediatric Phase I-IV clinical trials
  • Open 24 hours, Monday through Saturday (Sunday as needed)
  • On-site sample processing facility
  • Metabolic kitchen
Coleman Clinical Research Suite (CCRS)

Location: University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, 3rd floor

Features of the Coleman Clinical Research Suite include:

  • Four state-of-the-art rooms (three beds, two infusion chairs)
  • Adult Phase I and II oncology studies
  • Clinical research RN staffing (oncology experience)
  • On-site translational research and pharmacology core laboratory and sample processing facility
  • Open 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday (inquire for additional hours)
Bolwell Outpatient Center

Location: University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, Bolwell 3400, 3rd floor

The Bolwell Outpatient Center is unstaffed. Other features include:

  • Exam room for screening/follow-up visits
  • Developmental testing room/video set-up

In addition, staff scatter throughout UH Cleveland Medical Center campus (including the W.O. Walker building) to support studies.

Community-Based Facilities

To promote the translation of research practice to the community, research facilities (unstaffed space plus lab processing support) are also available at:

  • University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center (Beachwood)
  • Otis Moss Jr. Health Center (Cleveland)

These sites provide:

  • Access to additional populations for recruitment: potential participants who prefer to be seen away from the academic medical center setting
  • Community educational programs focused on enhancing public knowledge about research
  • Opportunity to involve communities in setting research priorities, monitoring research efforts, and broadcasting and interpreting research findings
