When to Refer a Patient for Transplantation

Personalized Care for Superior Outcomes

At the UH Transplant Institute, we provide the full spectrum of care program for the transplant recipient.

Our Team:

  • Initiates the contact with the referred patient and performs a thorough educational program as an introduction
  • Arranges for all of the appointments and testing necessary for the evaluation
  • Provides a timely assessment of the potential candidate for a transplant possibility by transplant committee consultation
  • Considers the referring cardiologist and physician as a vital part of the team and communication is established during all aspects of the work-up

Our goal is to minimize the recipient’s time on the transplant waiting list and to permit them to enjoy their life and to get back to the things they love.
