The available surgical options and recommendations from our team of specialists will be reviewed, including the limitations and risks of forehead lift surgery.

Ideal Candidates for Forehead Lift Surgery

The best candidate for a forehead lift is a woman or man whose eyebrows have begun to descend, making the patient look tired, sad or angry. Prominent and deepened frown lines are another indication for forehead lift surgery.

Most patients that undergo forehead lift surgery are in their 40s to 60s, or younger if there is a hereditary factor present in the family.

Performing Forehead Lift Surgery

Forehead lift surgery is most commonly performed endoscopically, although depending on the condition of the forehead it can be done through incisions placed within the hairline or at the hairline, depending on how long the forehead is. The forehead lift is usually performed in an outpatient surgery facility and takes from 1 to 1.5 hours.

General anesthesia is often recommended, although forehead lift surgery can be performed under sedation.. There is often some swelling and bruising around the eyes that subsides in a week or 10 days, after which the patients can resume social activities and return to work. Strenuous activities will have to be avoided by the patients for three weeks. The patients will be advised to avoid consumption of aspirin and NSAIDS for three weeks before and a week after surgery.
