Chairman’s Letter

Dear Applicants and Colleagues,

The Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Orthopaedic Residency Program continues to be nationally recognized as one of the highest ranked in the nation. The primary goal of our residency program is to provide graduate physicians with comprehensive training in all aspects of the diverse discipline of orthopaedic surgery. The education obtained through this program enables our graduates to become leaders in the field and to pursue successful careers in academic or community-based practice.

The Orthopaedic Program offers a combination of a large, dedicated, internationally renowned faculty covering all of the orthopaedic subspecialties. In addition, nationally recognized research programs and state-of-the-art facilities provide a full range of clinical and surgical opportunities. Our program is comprehensive, hands-on, and has produced some of the finest orthopaedic surgeons.

Our program has been further strengthened by University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center’s designation as a Level I Trauma Center. Additional growth of the Sports Medicine Institute has provided expanded team coverage opportunities for youth, collegiate and professional organizations.

The Orthopaedic Program has also restructured the Allen Research Fellowship for applicants interested in a dedicated research year after the first year of residency. This well-established program is now listed as a separate match track. I invite you to take a close look at the Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals of Cleveland Orthopaedic Residency Training Program.
