Summer Youth Volunteer Program Positions

Teen Scene Volunteer

Reception: Greet visitors, provide information and escort people to areas of the hospitals. Work with a diverse population and build people skills.

Atrium Gift Shop: Greet customers and assist with selection of gifts and purchases as needed. Stock shelves. May include some cashiering.

Pediatric Outpatient: Spend time with pediatric patients of various ages performing activities in outpatient offices. May assist with games, coloring or basic crafts.

Child Life Activities: Visit and interact with pediatric patients from birth through eighteen in the activity centers and at patients’ bedsides. Work with patients and families to help make their stay at Rainbow more enjoyable by providing company and comfort to them. You must be 17 years old and entering senior year in high school.

Pianist: Entertain staff, patients and their family members by playing the piano in the hospital atrium. Must be an accomplished piano player.

Wheelchair Recovery Team: Recover wheelchairs from various hospital locations and assist in expediting our patient’s trip home by providing a wheelchair when needed. Answer visitor questions, provide directions and escort patients to their destination.

Skilled Nursing Facility: Provide essential tools to help in the recovery of elderly patients. Assist activities staff in Hanna House with scheduled programs (i.e:, crafts, music, bingo, games, special events). Provide reading and activity materials and friendly visits to patients.

Seidman Cancer Center Activity Cart: Visit inpatient floors, offering diversionary activities to patients and families.

Seidman Cancer Center Hospitality Cart: Offer complimentary beverages and snacks to patients and families in outpatient waiting areas.

Pediatric Activity Cart: Assist in pediatric patients’ well-being through diversional activities. Visit outpatient pediatric areas and perform activities.
