Contact Information and FAQ
We will be accepting applications for one PGY-2 position for the 2008-2009 academic year through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS®) All applicants are welcome including foreign medical graduates with a J-1 Visa.  We are a participant of the NRMP Main Match and therefore, do not fill any positions outside of the Match.  We anticipate completing all interviews by the end of the January 2007.  Thus, we urge applicants to collect all supporting documentation as soon as possible.  Only candidates with completed application files will be offered interviews.  In addition, candidates lacking significant prior clinical exposure to radiation oncology (either in the form of a formal medical school rotation or an externship) are unlikely to be interviewed.  We are offering one PGY-2 position through the Match to begin July 2008.

Resident education in radiation oncology includes 5 years (1 year internship, 4 years radiation oncology residency) of accredited, clinically oriented graduate medical education.  The first year of postgraduate clinical training must be spent in internal medicine, family practice, obstetrics/gynecology, surgery or a surgical sub-specialty, pediatrics, or a transitional program.  A separate match must be conducted to complete this portion of your training, which is also offered at University Hospitals of Cleveland but is not required to be completed at our institution.  The PGY-1 year must include at least 9 months of direct patient care in medical and/or surgical specialties other than radiation oncology.

Medical student electives are also available in our department through Case Western Reserve University's School of Medicine.
