The purpose of the Human Tissue Procurement Facility (HTPF) is to prospectively collect, prepare, and distribute high quality discarded human tissue samples to researchers studying cancer and other diseases. HTPF can guide and instruct researchers on how to incorporate human tissue into research activities and how to work within the boundaries of patient confidentiality and other regulatory issues.
The HTPF infrastructure is supported by a Cancer Center Grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI), funds from University Hospitals, subcontracts with outside institutions, and user fees from tissue recipients
