Rheumatoid Arthritis
What is Rheumatoid Arthritis?
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) results from the immune system attacking the joints and eroding away the cartilage and bone at the edge of the joint.

Symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Often occurs in a symmetric fashion (both hands, both knees, etc.).
  • Morning stiffness lasts 45 minutes or longer and can even last all day.
  • Can affect other parts of the body besides the joints (e.g., blood vessels, lungs, skin, etc.).

Treatment is aimed at relieving pain, decreasing inflammation, improving mobility and suppressing the immune system.
