LASIK (Laser-Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis) is a revolutionary laser procedure that alters the shape of the human cornea allowing light to more accurately land in focus on the retina. The result is reduced dependency on glasses and contact lenses. The excimer laser used is a computer controlled ultra-violet beam of "cool" non-thermal light.
LASIK is a very patient-friendly procedure. It requires minimal time off work and there is very little disruption to the patient. LASIK is an elective surgical procedure. At the Laser Vision Center, information is provided so a thorough understanding of risks and benefits can be weighed prior to making this important decision.
The technology used for LASIK can make a difference in your result. Our committment to use the best technology ensures our effort to deliver the best results. We provide our patients with an integrated system of preoperative diagnostics as well as a superior laser.
Candidacy for Lasik
Do you have the appropriate prescription? Are your eyes healthy enough to undergo the procedure? Are there any other reasons that may exclude you from the candidacy pool? All of these items can be determined by the Laser Vision Center at a thorough eye exam.
The Finest Technology
- State-of-the-art facility
- Custom, wavefront technology with eyetracker
- Orbscan topography
Just as each individual’s fingerprint is one-of-a-kind, your vision is 100 percent unique to your eyes. We are proud to offer you "custom" wavefront-guided LASIK with the Bausch & Lomb Technolas® laser. The FDA results for this innovative technology are superior to the other FDA-approved wavefront systems. In a U.S. Bausch & Lomb clinical trial of 340 eyes (six months after surgery) the FDA-approved results show 99.4% of patients had uncorrected vision of 20 / 40 or better after surgery. (FDA benchmark for approval: 85%).
Our main office and surgical suite is located at the Brainard Medical Center in Lyndhurst, and our satellite office is at the Westlake Health Center. You are invited to have a free LASIK evaluation.
