University Memory and Aging Center
When an older adult demonstrates a loss of memory or confusion, we tend to dismiss it as nothing more than the signs of aging. Occasionally, however, memory loss and confusion may be early symptoms for Alzheimer’s disease or some other serious health problem. At the University Memory and Aging Center, we promote the best possible care for individuals and families dealing with any type of memory loss or dementia. These include early or mild symptoms as well as more severe symptoms caused by Alzheimer’s disease, vascular disease, Parkinson’s disease and other conditions. Our interdisciplinary style of care works with other University Hospitals programs as assurance that our patients’ complete health needs are addressed. Another patient benefit: the University Memory and Aging Center receives major research funding from the National Institute on Aging, as well as from foundations and industry.
