This research study is designed for children and adolescents who have experienced a trauma (e.g. sexual/physical abuse, violence, a car accident) and then developed posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). |

| Description: |
This research study is designed for children and adolescents who have experienced a trauma (e.g. sexual/physical abuse, violence, a car accident) and then developed posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The study includes 12-15 weeks of talk therapy specifically aimed at reducing PTSD symptoms. There will be no charge to participants for the therapy. |
| Criteria: |
Participants must be between the ages of 7and18, have experienced a trauma that he/she remembers (e.g. physical or sexual assault or an accident) and be suffering from symptoms of PTSD (e.g. intrusive upsetting memories of the trauma, nightmares, fear, sleep problems) due to the trauma. The traumatic event should have occurred at least 12 weeks ago. |
