| Description: |
For nearly 20 years, University Memory and Aging Center researchers have been studying why some people develop problems with memory, thinking, and activities of daily living as they age, while others retain normal memories. The goal of this research project is to create a list of people who might be eligible to participate in other research studies conducted by the University Memory and Aging Center. Participation involves a two-hour visit that includes paper-and-pencil memory testing and a physical assessment based on how the brain looks and works. After this visit, referrals to studies that include genetics, treatment, lifestyle, caregiving, and others may be offered. Visits take place at Fairhill Center, located at 12200 Fairhill Rd., with free parking, and there is no cost to participate. |
| Criteria: |
Participants must have mild memory concerns, or dementia resulting from Alzheimer's disease, stroke or other causes, and are not in nursing homes. These participants can be any age. Participants with normal memory must be 65 years or older and are not in nursing homes. |
