Today, with ongoing advances in medical care and research, patients with kidney disease frequently can enjoy healthy and productive lives. The Division of Nephrology offers a combination of dedicated faculty and state of the art facilities that provide a full range of clinical and research services for patients. Clinical research in the division focuses on outcomes in dialysis and transplant patients, immunological monitoring of kidney transplant recipients and hypertension in patients with end stage renal disease. Basic research programs currently focus on mechanisms of glomerular injury, diabetic nephropathy, vascular biology, and transplant immunology. We enjoy a longstanding tradition of combining successful clinical programs with research to train fellows for careers in nephrology.
