Patient and Family Council

Patient and Family Council at University Hospitals Case Medical Center Aims to Improve Care Experience

At UH Case Medical Center, we recognize that exceptional health care starts with understanding the needs of our patients and their families. That is why we established our Patient and Family Council in 2006. A volunteer group, the council seeks to continuously improve the care experience for patients and those whom patients consider family, including spouses, partners, parents, children and close friends.

Our goal is to represent the voice of patients and families. We do this by:

  • Providing a forum where patients and families can share their experiences and suggestions for improving care
  • Partnering with doctors, nurses and administrators to enhance care protocols and practices
  • Identifying everyday concerns patients and families face
  • Evaluating patient materials
  • Supporting the creation of patient- and family-centered care environments
