Summer Youth Volunteer Program
Teens Gain Valuable Experience and Contribute to Community Through Summer Volunteer Program
The Summer Youth Volunteer Program at University Hospitals Case Medical Center takes place from June through August and is designed for students age 15 to high school graduation. The purpose of the program is to empower teens with leadership and communication skills and provide them with exposure to the hospital environment, while contributing to the community.
Our next Summer program takes place from June 16, 2014 - August 8, 2014. Applications will be accepted until May 23, 2014, however, the program may fill prior to this date.
Volunteering can be a fun activity and very rewarding, but it is also a very serious commitment. Volunteering requires that you be willing to learn, work hard, and be responsible and open to new experiences.
Participants in the program volunteer weekly over an eight week period and must be available during regular business hours. Weekends and
evenings are not available. Participants volunteer 3-4 hours per week. No service hours will be released until the minimum of 29 hours has been completed.
Please consider carefully whether this time commitment will fit your schedule or other life commitments. You must have the willingness and ability to make a commitment to your volunteer assignment. The department in which you volunteer depends on you. You will be permitted no more than one absence in
order to satisfactorily complete the program.
