UH Receives HP Mission-Critical Innovation Award for Developing Radiology Data-Sharing System
University Hospitals was honored with a 2011 HP Mission-Critical Innovation Award for designing and implementing a new data-sharing system for the Department of Radiology. The award recognizes organizations for their work in developing IT solutions for mission-critical computing and achieving new levels of reliability with complex applications.
UH received the award in the Humanitarian / Environmental Impact category for developing an online storage and disaster-recovery site that provides continuous availability of radiology reports and images across all UH facilities. The current system is now sized to handle one million exams annually. This innovative solution has been critical in improving and standardizing patient care by making images accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
