Overview

The Department of Neurological Surgery, part of the Neurological Institute at University Hospitals, provides the most advanced diagnostic, treatment and surgical services to patients—pediatrics and adults—with brain and nerve tissue disorders and diseases. We treat the full range of complex cases, including brain tumors, arteriovenous malformations, stroke, cerebrovascular disease, aneurysms, seizure disorders, movement/functional disorders, complex and congenital spinal disorders, neuralgia and other neurologic conditions.

Our experienced surgeons use a multi-disciplinary, integrated approach to patient care and work closely with our specialists in neurology, neuropathology, endocrinology, neuro-oncology, neuro-ophthalmology, neurotology and other associated disciplines to determine the best treatment plan for each patient. We provide leading-edge neurosurgery techniques, including stereotactic radiosurgery, deep brain stimulation, and endoscopic surgery. The Neurosurgery department also works closely with nationally and internationally renowned experts within Translational Neurosciences Center at the Neurological Institute ensuring access to the latest scientific advances in treatment alternatives.
