Types of Treatments
Major advances in surgical techniques, as well as in chemotherapy and radiation therapy, have greatly advanced the treatment of musculoskeletal tumors. As a result, our staff is experienced in highly developed therapies that offer the best possible outcomes.
We specialize in the use of what is known as metallic endoprosthesis to reconstruct bones and joints after the removal of bone tumors. We also offer many limb-sparing options to best fit the patient's needs and lifestyles.
Our advanced treatment methods include:
- Pre-operative embolization
- Minimally invasive biopsy
- Limb-sparing surgery with endoprosthetic reconstruction
- Shoulder girdle surgery
- Intra-operative Radiation Therapy (IORT)
In addition, radiotherapy treatments such as IORT may be part of an integrated cancer management strategy involving surgery, chemotherapy, and experimental drugs.
