For patients who need more than the short-term counseling provided by the social work team, the SIU is now offering an on-site mental health therapist who is a licensed professional clinical counselor. Patients have the choice of being referred for long-term therapy within or outside University Hospitals. We also have a newly formed SIU psychiatric clinic where patients see psychiatrists who have an interest in HIV at the Walker Building (the new location of UH’s Mental Health outpatient clinic).
