Wade Park Veterans Affairs Medical Center Eye Clinic Expansion

Residents at UH Eye Institute have the luxury of training in a brand-new eye clinic – scheduled for completion in August 2010. The facility, which is equipped with the latest technology to provide residents with the most advanced training opportunities available:

  • Is scheduled to open in Fall 2010.
  • Boasts more than 8,000 square feet of space dedicated to patient care, research, and the EyeSi surgical simulator.
  • Allows for the comfortable expansion to two VA resident teams.
  • Expands resident coverage, which greatly increases the number of patients seen on a daily basis.
  • Contains state-of-the-art PASCAL laser system, digital fundus imaging system with multiroom display, Heidelberg Spectralis HRA+OCT, IOL Master and Humphrey Matrix Perimeter are available.
  • Has operating rooms equipped with a new Leica microscope and BIOM Widefield imaging system with HD recording capabilities.
