UH Ahuja Medical Center History
Blueprint for Quality Care Leads Directly to University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center
Creating a superior hospital system and continuously working to make it better requires vision. Serving Greater Cleveland for more than 140 years, the University Hospitals blueprint for advancing health care in the region led directly to the construction of UH Ahuja Medical Center.
Incorporating the most intuitive design elements and built around the needs of patients, families and staff, UH Ahuja Medical Center is a state-of-the-art facility that provides an exceptional model of community-based care.
This facility would not have been possible without the generous philanthropic donation of UH Board Chairman, Monte Ahuja, his wife Usha and their family, who donated $30 million in support of Vision 2010: The UH Difference.
Meeting a Critical Need With an Advanced Facility
Many of Cleveland’s surrounding communities are experiencing significant population growth. Unfortunately, many of these people lacked convenient access to advanced “one-stop” medical services.
UH Ahuja Medical Center fills that need. Located near the intersection of I-271 and Harvard Road at Chagrin Highlands in Beachwood, Ohio, the hospital provides specialized medical and surgical services to Cleveland’s eastern and southeastern communities, as well as Lake and Summit counties.
