EPEAT Purchases

Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) The majority of electronics products we purchase are Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) registered. EPEAT is the definitive global rating system for electronics that combines strict, comprehensive criteria for design, production, energy use and recycling with ongoing independent verification of manufacturer claims. Using the HHI as a reinforcing tool, we were able in 2013 to communicate the value of purchasing EPEAT devices and recognize the good work our Supply Chain and business partners are doing in this arena. Like all other HHI outcome areas, we have also built out a tracking module and report for ongoing evaluation of our EPEAT purchases. In 2013, 100 percent of our computer and imaging equipment purchases were EPEAT registered, with all computer purchases qualifying for the EPEAT Gold rating. EPEAT Gold is the highest achievable rating, mandating products to meet all required criteria and 75 percent of the optional criteria in the rating system.
