Event Celebrates Donors, Supports Patient Care Programs

The Harvest Moon Golf Classic & Soiree on Thursday, Sept. 17 has already reached more than 80 percent of its goal of raising $189,000 to enhance patient care services at University Hospitals Parma Medical Center.

The Parma Hospital Health Care Foundation’s major fundraiser for the year combines a golf outing with an evening cocktail reception and dinner at Weymouth Country Club, 3946 Weymouth Road, Medina. The four-person scramble is already filled for the afternoon golf classic, which begins with a shotgun start at noon. However, sponsorships and tickets are available for the soiree at 5 p.m. Golfers and other guests will gather in the grand ballroom for a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and music by the Esto Jazz Trio. Rather than raffles and a silent auction this year, the Foundation will showcase its sponsoring donors and feature the popular fund-a-need where donors will have the opportunity to help co-chairs, Bill and Renee Emrhein, complete their fund-raising goal at 100 percent.

“We will infuse more donor recognition into the event, because it is our donors who make it happen for the Foundation year after year,” says Executive Director Marcia Ferguson. “We will be recognizing our sponsors for all they have done to help the Parma Hospital Health Care Foundation, and asking our guests to help us bring it home and reach our $189,000 goal.”

Funds raised through the Harvest Moon event will support patient care services in UH Parma Medical Center’s growing institutes, including UH Seidman Cancer Center and UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute.

To purchase tickets for the Soiree, call the Foundation office at 440-743-4280.
