Leading Expert in Using DBS to Treat Depression Presenting Two Talks

Helen Mayberg, MD, the leading expert in the use of deep brain stimulation for treatment resistant depression, will deliver two talks January 26 and 27. Her appearance is presented by the UH Neurological Institute in conjunction with the UH Case Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

A Professor of Psychiatry, Behavioral Sciences, and Neurology at Emory University as well as a member of the Institute of Medicine at the National Academy of Science, Dr. Mayberg will present “Theory to Practice: Towards the Use of Neuroimaging in the Diagnosis and Management of Major Depression" January 26 at the Bio-Med Research Building (BRB) Room #105 at 12:10 p.m. Dr. Mayberg will present "Rethinking Depression and its Treatment: Insights from Studies of Deep Brain Stimulation” January 27 at 8 a.m. in the WO Walker Center first floor Amphitheater.
