University Hospitals Conneaut Medical Center Puts Patient Safety First with Electronic Health Record System

Monday, November 7, 2011

University Hospitals Conneaut Medical Center implemented an electronic health record system in October 2010 with one goal in mind: patient safety. The system makes patient records accessible at all University Hospitals facilities, streamlining the hospital experience and helping facilitate continuity of care. Because the electronic records include complete medical histories, including tests, treatments and medications, it removes the burden from patients to convey complex medical information to their doctors and nurses. Benefits of the electronic system include reduced potential for errors, improved communication among doctors and staff and increased patient privacy protection.

For more information on the electronic health record system at UH Conneaut Medical Center, read our patient safety and security brochure [PDF] or watch a video in which our staff discusses other benefits of the system.
