NI Renames Memory and Cognition Center

Monday, November 7, 2011

The University Hospitals Neurological Institute's Center for Memory and Cognition is now the Brain Health and Memory Center.

The Center was renamed to better reflect the scope of its patient care activities. The UH Brain Health and Memory Center is a multi-disciplinary effort focused on the understanding and preservation of memory and cognitive function in health and disease. Cognitive function includes memory, executive functions (learning, decision making and judgment), language and behavior.

The UH Brain Health and Memory Center includes innovative, integrated and individualized programs in neuropsychology and cognitive rehabilitation; educational programs for residents/fellows and the community; clinical trials; the Foley ElderHealth Center practice with all of its sub-populations (Alzheimer’s disease, normal pressure hydrocephalus, mild cognitive impairment, Brain Health Executive Wellness); and numerous research collaborations.

Alan J. Lerner, MD, serves as Director of the UH Brain Health and Memory Center. He also serves as a Professor of Neurology for the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
