Top Quality Recognition from The Joint Commission
University Hospitals Conneaut Medical Center and University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center have each been named among the nation’s top performers on key quality measures by the Joint Commission. Only 405 hospitals in the U.S., and just 14 in Ohio, have been recognized as a top performer based on data reported about evidence-based processes shown to improve care for certain conditions. In order to earn this distinction, each hospital must meet two 95 percent performance thresholds on an aggregation of accountability measure data reported to the Joint Commission during the previous calendar year. UH Conneaut and UH Geneva medical centers were recognized as top performers for the pneumonia care and surgical care measure sets.
