Employee Health Screening Information

UH is offering free on-site health screenings to help employees enrolled in a UH medical plan, and their covered spouse or same-sex domestic partner, complete the first step in getting their wellness credit. The screenings take approximately 20 minutes and require at least eight hours of fasting prior to the screening. The screening sessions are taking place at various locations throughout the System and will continue as needed through March.

2011 Benefits Update

Employees on the bi-weekly payroll are asked to review this week’s pay advice to verify all benefit deductions are correct. If you notice an error, corrections may be processed by contacting the Wellness Administration Center before Friday, Jan 14. This pay will reflect the 2011 employee contributions for benefits elected during the 2011 benefits open enrollment period, as well as the 2011 per pay amount for sold PTO (if applicable).

My Library Tool on UH Intranet

Use the My Library tool on the UH intranet to save and organize links to frequently-used applications (i.e. web mail, Kronos, Oracle) or frequently-visited UH intranet and Internet web pages. The advantage of using the UH intranet’s My Library feature over the web browser’s Favorites is My Library follows you from PC to PC. Favorites are only stored for that browser on that particular PC. Strong Women Strong Bones Program

Strong Women Strong Bones – a 12-week program designed for women of all ages to strengthen muscles, increase bone density and improve balance – starts Monday, Jan. 3 (10-11 a.m. or 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.) and Thursday, Jan. 6 (6-7 p.m. or 7-8 p.m.). New EEG Lab Requisition Available

A new electroneurodiagnostic (EEG) laboratory requisition form is available on the UH intranet. Click here to access the new form. This form is not for long-term video EEG admissions. The UH Neurological Institute Epilepsy Center’s EEG Lab is located in Bolwell 2700. The EEG Lab’s phone number is 216-844-3199 and the fax number is 216-201-5149. The Pediatric EEG Lab moved to the Bolwell 2700 Dec. 22. Outpatient EEG Labs are also located at UH Bedford Medical Center, UH Chagrin Highlands Health Center and UH Landerbrook Health Center.

Ideastream Presents LifeGiving Transplant Stories Featuring UH Doctors

This month, Ideastream presents LifeGiving Transplant Stories, a multiple media series including radio, television and web focused on organ donation, transplantation and the stories of people who give life and those who receive it. UH Drs. Kenneth Woodside, Edmund Sanchez, Anthony Post, UH transplant coordinators Sharon Gonzalez (liver) Amy Patterson (pancreas), Steve Fakner MT, CHT, and Charles Prince will be featured in the series on Thursday, Jan. 20 on WVIZ. To be eligible for advertisement via the 14 wayfinding kiosks at UH Case Medical Center, the event must be a UH sponsored event and approved by a director or vice president. If your event meets the criteria, please submit pertinent information three weeks prior to the event date.

Women’s Health Expo Presented by UH Geauga Medical Center

The public is invited to attend a free community education event Saturday, Feb. 12 featuring health information of special interest to women. The 5th annual Women’s Health Expo is presented by UH Geauga Medical Center and includes educational sessions, health screenings and complimentary lunch. The event will be held from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Holiday Inn Express & Suites LaMalfa (5783 Heisley Road, Mentor).

UHCare Refresher Sessions at UH Geneva Medical Center

Trainers will be at UH Geneva Medical Center to lead UHCare refresher sessions for nurses, clinical staff and physicians Jan. 10-14. These three-hour sessions provide a great opportunity to practice using UHCare and further refine skills. Registration is required as space is limited. Nurses and clinical staff must register via the Learning Management System (LMS) and can enter search code: TDB254GEN for enrollment information.  

Physicians can complete registration through the training enrollment line at 216-286-6400. Superusers should attend a training session to learn about the new Flowsheets and Clinical Data Viewer (CDV Tab) functionalities that go live Tuesday, Jan. 25.
