Coleman Family Donates More than $3 Million to the UH Ireland Cancer Center

The Coleman family has donated more than $3 million to further advance cancer clinical trials at the Ireland Cancer Center of University Hospitals Case Medical Center. In honor of her late husband, Lester, Kathleen Coleman has made a $1.5 million gift commitment to establish the Kathleen A. and Dr. Lester E. Coleman Clinical Research Suite to be built in the future Cancer Hospital at UHCMC. This gift is in addition to the $1.5 million Dr. Lester E. Coleman, Jr. Chair in Cancer Research and Therapeutics, established by Mrs. Coleman in 2003.

Youth Violence in Cleveland and the Impact on Health Care Workers

Thursday, March 27, from noon – 1 p.m., Michael Walker, the executive director of the Partnership For a Safer Cleveland, will present on youth violence in our city at the Rainbow Amphitheatre. Harvest for Hunger Raffle

Purchase tickets today – Friday, March 28, to enter a raffle to win a “custom photo afghan.” All raffle proceeds benefit Harvest for Hunger. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5, and are available for purchase from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the Atrium, or in the Volunteer Services office anytime before 5 p.m. The afghan, donated by Hometown Threads in the North Olmsted Wal-Mart, is a 54-by-68-inch blanket which can have an image of the winner’s choice woven in (not just screen printed). Samples are on display in the Atrium this week.
