St. Baldrick’s Day

Once again several Rainbow staff from the Department of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and their family members are shaving their heads on St. Patrick’s Day – also known as St. Baldrick’s Day - to raise money for childhood cancer research. Proceeds benefit Children’s Oncology Group clinical trials and other childhood cancer research initiatives. More than 75 people have signed up to get their heads shaved at A.J. Rocco’s in Cleveland. This year’s Rainbow shavees include Rainbow 2 nurse Leslee Seeman; Sante Ghetti, the coordinator of the Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Initiative; Brian Berman, M.D. and John Letterio, M.D. Make sure to admire their shiny heads on March 18.

Last year’s St. Baldrick’s Day event at UH was a huge success, with volunteer leader Peter Richer and his team raising more than $217,000. For more information, please visit the St. Baldrick’s Web site at www.stbaldricks.org.
