Patient Safety Culture Survey
The 2008 Patient Safety Culture Survey will be available until March 16. The survey can be accessed via the UH intranet by clicking on Quality and Patient Safety, then Patient Safety Survey.
The goal is to receive responses from all clinical and non-clinical staff who work at UH. After completing the survey, you automatically qualify for entry into a drawing for an iPod Nano. You will be prompted to print the last page of the survey, add your contact information and fax your entry to the Quality Center at (216) 844-1878.

Free Cardiovascular Screenings for UH Employees 50+
On March 13, 14, 17 and 18, University Hospitals Heart & Vascular Institute is offering free cardiovascular screenings through the Dare to C.A.R.E. program. These screening days are for UH employees over age 50 or those with risk factors, such as a strong family history of heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity and smoking. The screening will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Screenings are available by appointment only, and will take place at UHCMC’s Mather Pavilion, Suite 1800. Upcoming Events at Otis Moss
In celebration of its 10-year anniversary, UH’s Otis Moss Jr. Health Center is hosting a number of health-related events next week. A blood drive will be conducted on Wednesday, March 12, from 1 – 6 p.m. On Thursday, March 13, free prostate cancer screenings will be available from 6 – 8 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public. National Nutrition Month
Today is the first Registered Dietitian Day, and principles of good nutrition will continue to be celebrated throughout the month of March. To learn more about nutrition, join us in the Atrium on Tuesday, March 18, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. as we address current topics in nutrition. There will be information about the health benefits of fiber, dealing with children who are picky eaters, childhood obesity, intuitive eating and hidden facts about convenience foods.
