Clarification Regarding UH Employee Participation in Political Campaigns
UH employees are encouraged to vote and take part in the upcoming elections. However, as a nonprofit organization, UH and all personnel who work at any UH entity, are prohibited from participating in any candidate's political campaign DURING WORK HOURS OR ON UH PROPERTY ONLY. Any employee who is participating in a candidate's political campaign during his or her free time must do so at a location other than UH-owned property. If you have any questions, concerns or comments, please call or e-mail Heidi Gartland, Vice President, Government Relations.

2008 Annual Safety In-service
The UH Case Medical Center mandatory annual safety in-service will again be a PowerPoint presentation available on the Learning Management System (LMS) prior to the end of 2008. The Safety Department is attempting to present the 2008 in-service with the initial distribution of the updated Emergency Operations Plan (disaster manual). This year’s in-service encompasses an overview of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS), National Incident Command System (NIMS) and some of the changes made to our disaster readiness at UHCMC. In addition, we will review the safety-awareness topics (i.e. fire and chemical safety) as well as other information required by the Joint Commission and/or CMS. It is anticipated the in-service will be on the LMS for approximately two to three months, and may be extended if necessary.
