Employees and guests of all cultures and backgrounds are invited to celebrate Black History Month at UH Case Medical Center this week. Employees are encouraged to learn more about African American heritage and culture through the following events:

African American Marketplace: A wide variety of merchandise reflective of African American culture will be available for purchase Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. in the Atrium.

On Thursday in the Atrium the H.H. Jazz Circle will provide music from noon – 1 p.m.

University Hospitals has partnered with the American Heart Association and NewsChannel 5 to promote the 2008 Go Red for Women campaign throughout the month of February. Through this partnership, UH’s Heart & Vascular specialists are being featured via multiple media outlets, advertising and UH’s internal publications.

Some of the highlights include NewsChannel 5 airing heart-related stories throughout the month of February on their news programming. Beginning February 7 and continuing every Thursday at 5 p.m., health reporter Alicia Booth will be reporting on UH heart specialists and their patient success stories. The station also plans to have physicians on their noon news throughout the month. Channel 5 is also airing an ad featuring UH’s Dr. Jerry Goldstone daily during the evening news.
