Lupus Atherosclerosis Prevention, Children and Young Adults

Intro: This research study is designed to learn more about preventing atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) in children and young adults with Lupus.

Description: This research study is designed to learn more about preventing atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) in children and young adults with Lupus. This 3-year study is looking to learn more about preventing atherosclerosis and find out if a drug called Lipitor can help slow down the process of atherosclerosis. The Rhematologist at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital invite you to consider participating in this NIH sponsored study. Compensation for parking and travel will be provided.
Criteria: Participants must be between the ages of 10 and 21. Participants must also be diagnosed with Lupus and weight 55 lb or more.
