This research study is designed to determine whether the study medication will slow the progress of kidney disease in individuals with Type II Diabetes. |

This research study is designed to determine whether the study medication will slow the progress of kidney disease in individuals with Type II Diabetes. Blood work and urine specimens will be collected to determine if participants are eligible. Half of the participants will receive study medication and half will receive a placebo (no active drug). Study participants will receive study medication and some blood pressure medication at no cost. |
| Criteria: |
Participants must have been diagnosed with type II diabetics and be over 18 years of age and have developed kidney disease. Women may not be pregnant or become pregnant while in the study. |
