The Primary Care Institute recommends all women, men, and children have various routine screening tests based on their age and gender. The following list, was created by the members of the Primary Care Institute, and are the recommended screening tests specific to the age and gender of the patient.

The Primary Care Institute recommends the following tests: 

Children:

  • Dental
Adults:
Women between the ages of 20 and 39:
  • Pelvic exam
  • Pap test
  • Breast exam
  • Skin exam
Women between 40 and 49:
  • Blood pressure
  • Cholesterol test
  • Skin exam
  • Breast exam
  • Pelvic exam
  • Pap test
  • Mammography
  • Fasting plasma glucose test
Women 50+:
  • Blood pressure
  • Cholesterol
  • Skin exam
  • Breast exam
  • Mammogram
  • Fecal occult blood test
  • Pelvic exam
  • Pap test
  • Bone mineral density test
  • Fasting plasma glucose test
  • Thyroid-stimulating hormone test
  • Colorectal cancer test
Men between the ages of 20-39:
  • Blood pressure

Men between 40 and 49:

Men 50+:
