Although many health care organizations profess a belief in outcomes assessment, few have committed the necessary resources to do it.

Established in the spring of 2009, the Neurological Outcomes Center is a collaboration between the University Hospitals Neurological Institute and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

The UH Neurological Institute centers provide clinical services and conduct research with the NOC. Dimensions of outcomes identified in the current strategic plan include “clinical quality, financial / volume, operations, satisfaction, human resources and research”. Current areas of clinical and research strength include Brain Tumor, Epilepsy, Memory & Cognition and Stroke & Cerebrovascular Disease.

Additional goals include partnering with other centers’ research and practice groups, as well as with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and other institutions locally, regionally, and nationally to track outcomes and develop novel methods to evaluate treatment approaches.
