Deep-tissue release/massage - Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fiber’s of the muscles, tendons and fascia.

Graston technique - The Graston Technique is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The Technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.

Gua Sha – Pronounced gwa sa, the technique uses a massage tool with a blunt edge to loosen scar tissue and improve circulation in the painful area. This traditional Chinese manual therapy is over 2000 years old and is gaining recognition from Western clinicians as a method of quickly decreasing or eliminating pain and improving function associated with chronic injuries like tendonitis, muscle strains, joint sprains, scar tissue adhesions and following surgery when pain persists long after the procedure.

Trigger Point Release – A manual therapy technique in which pressure is slowly applied over a trigger point or hypersensitive area of the muscle until the tissue barrier releases and the trigger point is inactivated. This technique is used to decrease muscle tension, spasms and pain caused by trigger points.

Myofascial release - A gentle blend of stretching and massage, myofascial release therapy uses hands-on manipulation of the entire body to promote healing and relieve pain. Therapists use the technique to ease pressure in the fibrous bands of connective tissue, or fascia that encase muscles throughout the body.

Joint mobilization - Mobilization involves moving the joints in a way that you cannot move it yourself. It involves small movements by the therapist of the actual bone surfaces on each other. There are many different movements of mobilization, some that help to decrease pain and others that help to increase the movement range of the joint.

Facilitated stretching - Facilitated stretching is based on PNF techniques it is an active form of stretching. The stretcher does most or all of the work.

PNF - PNF is an acronym for proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation. It is a technique of combining passive stretching and isometric stretching in order to achieve maximum static flexibility. PNF refers to any of several post-isometric relaxation stretching techniques in which a muscle group is passively stretched, then contracts isometrically against resistance while in the stretched position, and then is passively stretched again through the resulting increased range of motion.

Active-Isolated Stretching - Active stretching is also referred to as static-active stretching. An active stretch is one where you assume a position and then hold it there with no assistance other than using the strength of your agonist muscles. Active stretching increases active flexibility and strengthens the agonistic muscles.

Craniosacral Therapy- The skull is made up of several intricately fitting bones that move slightly secondary to the cranialsacral rythym. The brain pulses at a continuous rhythm of 6-12 cycles per minute. If trauma, dental work, or traumatic birth history disrupts this, adverse symptoms can develop. And may result in facial, jaw, neck or back pain, dizziness, sinus trouble, headaches and tinnitus. Cranialsacral Therapy uses the body’s own mechanisms to improve brain and spinal cord functioning which helps to reduce tension and improve overall health. It is a very gentle hands-on technique, holding appropriate points to balance the motion.

Strain/counter strain – A hands on technique to increase muscle length and pain reduction

Muscle energy – A system of exercises designed to utilize the muscle's own energy to elicit therapeutic results. The effect of muscle contraction on the skeletal system can elicit proper realignment and cause decrease in pain and increase in strength.

Arthrostim - An instrument that provides mechanical manipulation by mobilizing joints, muscle and soft tissue. The Arthrostim uses a pulsating motion that can be varied in intensity to accomodate patient comfort.
