Members of the Neuromuscular Center are very active in areas of continuing education and professional development. They have contributed numerous chapters on EMG and neuromuscular disorders in respected neurology, internal medicine and orthopedic textbooks.

In addition, Dr. Bashar Katirji and Dr. David C. Preston have frequently directed or lectured at courses held during the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine annual meetings.

Dr. Katirji is the author of the textbook, Electromyography in Clinical Practice: A Case Study Approach, in its second edition, used in training programs across the country.

Dr. Preston and Dr. Barbara E. Shapiro are the authors of Electromyography and Neuromuscular Disorders: Clinical-Electrophysiologic Correlations, textbook with CD-ROM, recognized among the best textbooks for students, residents and practitioners.

Drs. Katirji, Preston and Shapiro are the editors of Neuromuscular Disorders in Clinical Practice, the most comprehensive and authoritative textbook in the field with chapters contributed by the Neuromuscular Center staff.
