Pediatric Specialty Team-Ohio is a collaborative effort supported by the six free standing children’s hospitals of Ohio.
- Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital
- Akron Children’s Hospital
- Nationwide Children’s Hospital
- Toledo Children’s Hospital
- Columbus Children’s Hospital
- Dayton Children’s Hospital
The goal of PST-Ohio is to garner to resources of these 6 excellent children’s hospitals into a world class disaster response team for children.
In collaboration with the State of Ohio’s Department of Health, the Ohio Hospitals Association and supported by the Ohio Children’s Hospitals Association, PST-Ohio is currently in the process of determining our State and National Role in disaster response. To date and thanks to the generous support of our Children’s Hospitals Leadership, we have recruited over 150 physicians, nurses, therapist, social workers and support staff as a first step in building PST-Ohio.
Likewise, PST-Ohio Leadership have met with the core leadership of NDMS (National Disaster Medical Systems) to assess our readiness to become a national asset. Ohio’s Department of Health and the Emergency Management Agency (EMA) have also been quite supportive of the PST-Ohio team and we look forward to becoming an important Ohio asset as well.
