The Bariatric Surgery Program at University Hospitals has resource, education and support groups for both pre- and post-operative Gastric Bypass Patients. The groups meet regularly for educational and social events.

Learn more about the program, the procedure and the steps you can take for a positive recovery when you join patients, physicians, nurses, physical therapists and nutrition experts from University Hospitals for these special meetings.

These open discussion groups focus on information sharing and coping skills as patients and former patients talk about their experiences with the Roux-en-y gastric bypass. Experts from our Bariatric Surgery Program are on hand to answer questions and offer information and support.

We encourage you to take advantage of these unique, informal opportunities to discover how you can cope with the stresses of surgery... and get back to the fun of living!

PRE-OPERATIVE INFORMATIONAL AND POST-OPERATIVE SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS

Come and join the staff of University Hospitals Case Medical Center as they offer information and support to those wishing to have surgery and those who have already undergone Bariatric surgery. Please come and ask questions as well as offer support to your peers.

The first hour of the meeting will be dedicated to providing information and answering questions about the different Bariatric surgeries. Our post-op patients will be available to share their stories and answer your questions about their experiences.

The second hour will be dedicated to our post-op patients and topics that are specific to their needs. Pre-operative patients are welcome to stay for this half of the meeting.

The meetings will be held from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm on the third Tuesday of the month in Bolwell Conference Room A. The meeting dates for the remainder of 2009 are listed below.
