Immunodeficiencies (Primary)
These clinics are offered by our allergy/immunologists at various UHHS facilities including Landerbrook, Westlake, Strongsville and Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. Since it is a conjoint specialty, physicians can evaluate patients of all ages. A comprehensive evaluation for various allergic and related disorders is provided at these clinics. These disorders include, but are not limited to:
- environmental allergies (allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis and asthma)
- food allergies
- latex allergy
- venom (bee sting) allergies
- atopic dermatitis (eczema)
- recurrent urticaria and angioedema (hives and swelling)
- variety of anaphylaxis syndromes
Allergy evaluation and treatment
- skin testing - epicutaneous and intradermal
- RAST testing
- challenges - food, drug, latex, antigen, exercise, etc.
- allergy shots (for environmental and venom allergy patients)
- desensitization procedures for various drugs
A comprehensive evaluation of chronic or recurrent respiratory symptoms or recurring infections, such as otitis media, pneumonia & sinusitis, and diagnosis & care for patients with autoimmune and/or immunodeficiency diseases.
