The Hypertension Center assists primary care pediatricians in diagnosing, assessing and managing childhood hypertension. Hypertension is fully evaluated using outpatient ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, echocardiography, laboratory and radiology studies. Therapeutic recommendations are carefully individualized and are based on a team approach with specialists, nutritionists, and the primary pediatrician. Diet and lifestyle modifications as well as pharmacologic therapy are used.
