Our Board-Certified Nurse Practitioners have received rigorous training to ensure the best in clinical and customer care. To support the clinical and administrative needs of each clinic, our Nurse Practitioners work closely with local Collaborating Physicians. In addition, our UH FastCare clinics are closely aligned with local UH Urgent Care Centers, and Primary and Specialty Care Physicians. This helps our providers to best communicate with Primary Care Physicians and to facilitate referrals.

Collaborating Physicians: Certified Nurse Practitioners (CNPs) utilize contracted local physicians to provide clinical and administrative consultation on nationally recognized treatment guidelines and clinical issues. Collaborating Physicians are available to provide consulting time to Nurse Practitioners seeking medical advice or counsel, as needed. They are also expected to perform quality assessments, which include, chart reviews, script reviews, and on-site rounds on a limited basis.

Board-Certified Nurse Practitioners (CNPs): A CNP is a licensed health care practitioner who holds a Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree and is fully qualified to*:

  • Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries
  • Prescribe or order medication
  • Obtain medical histories
  • Perform physical examinations
  • Perform tests and interpret laboratory results
  • Perform health screenings
  • Counsel and educate patients on health and nutrition

*Our Nurse Practitioners work in collaboration with physicians, in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws and medical standards.
